Skin Resurfacing with Chemical Peels, Microdermabrasion, and Laser
After the summer you may be left with more sun-damaged skin, age-spots, and wrinkles. In addition, you may have skin scarred by acne, accidents or previous surgery can benefit from skin resurfacing. There are three major treatment methods available for skin resurfacing.
Chemical peels use a chemical reactive solution to remove the undesirable layer of skin. A chemical peel sounds like a harsh treatment, but in reality it can greatly vary from gentle to strong depending on the type of solution used for your skin’s needs.
Microdermabrasion uses a crystal diamond surface to gently sand your skin, removing the uneven outer layer of the skin, unclogging your pores, and improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles through collagen stimulation. At Danyo Plastic Surgery, we often combine chemical peels with microdermabrasion for an extremely effective skin resurfacing treatment.
Laser is the newest type of skin resurfacing, which removes superficial skin by evaporating it. Laser skin resurfacing is based on the principle of microthermal treatment zones. The laser pulse creates tiny ablative zones, removing the epidermis and upper dermis. The treatment then triggers the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the growth of new collagen and healthy skin tissue.
Skin resurfacing can minimize the appearance of:
- Acne and trauma scars
- Blackheads and whiteheads
- Dull skin
- Enlarged pores and blemishes
- Fine lines & wrinkles
- Oily skin
- Photo-aged skin
- Uneven texture & tone
During your initial consultation, we will throughly evaluate your skin to recommend the best skin resurfacing treatment method for you. You can always schedule a consultation online, over the phone, or stop into our Greenville, DE office.
IPL Phototherapy for Summer Sun Damage
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology uses a broad spectrum of light to delicately target and reduce melanin, excess pigment in the skin. This is definitely one of the best treatments for post-summer skin.
Skin’s pigment is gently heated by short pulses of light energy from the IPL hand piece. The temperature in these highly-concentrated areas of melanin or vascular pigment is raised, shattering the cells that contain excess pigment. The body then begins it’s natural process of repairing the injured cells, eliminating the pigment, and replacing this area with new, younger skin cells.
Skin conditions treated with IPL Phototherapy include:
- Age Spots
- Brown Spots
- Pigmented Lesions
- Sun Damage
- Sun Spots
- Vascular Lesions
During your IPL consultation you will meet with Licsened Aesthetician Deany Downey, who is certified and specializes in IPL Treatments. She will discuss any concerns and customize a treatment plan for you.
INFINI is a state-of-the-art anti-aging treatment that combines micro-needling + radiofrequency. With INFINI, radiofrequency is delivered up to 3.5″mm deep into the dermis through gold micro-needles, which spare the surface of the skin from damage while stimulating collagen production, tissue tightening, and volume directly within the skin.
- Acne and trauma scars
- Fine-lines & wrinkles
- Uneven texture
- Sagging skin
At Danyo Plastic Surgery in Delaware, you’ll receive a 2-treatment INFINI package with medical-grade skincare application post-treatment, and an at-home skincare kit with daily instructions. The INFINI skin care package will make sure you receive the best anti-aging results possible.
The NEW Acne Vi Peel
Acne isn’t a condition that just effects teenagers. Acne can arise at any age and during any season, when the pores of the skin become occluded with excess dead skin cells, bacteria, and oil build-up. If you tend to experience more acne in early autumn, the culprit could be due to some sunscreens, facial foundations & powders, and excess sweating clogging your pores from the hot summer months.
One of the best treatments for acne is a targeted acne peel to throughly cleanse the skin, deeply clarify pores, and kill bacteria.
Our newest facial treatment this fall is the Acne Vi Peel. This peel is specifically formulated for acne prone skin, to:
- Clear out dead cells to open pores
- Kill p.acnes bacteria
- Soothe inflammation and redness
You can schedule an Acne Vi Peel anytime with us online or over the phone.
Teen Skin Consultations
Back-to-school season can be a stressful time for teenagers. Doing well in class, completing homework while juggling extracurricular activities, making friends, and selecting the perfect outfit is all stressful enough. Layer school’s daily stressors with acneic skin and you may have a recipe for disaster.
On top of acne breakouts, teens may begin to experience acne scarring. Acne scars can form very easily and often without you noticing until it’s too late. Acne scars can be raised, pigmented, or deep marks in the skin. The best solution for acne & acne scarring is to treat the acne pro-actively with an Acne Treatment, to eliminate acne as quickly as possible, and prevent re-occurrence.
Acne may not be the only skin concern teen’s face. Skin concerns we often see in teens include:
- Acne breakouts
- Sun damage
We invite you to schedule a Teen Skin Consultation with our medical aesthetician Deana Downey at our Greenville, Delaware office. She will evaluate your teen’s skin and recommend the best treatment package for them.
